What in the world is wrong with my "supposedly new" Inspiron 14R?

First off, here is my laptop's configuration:

    Intel®Core™ i5 - 520M 2.4Ghz / up to SC 2.93GHz / 3M
    4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3
14.0" High Definition (720p) LED Display with TrueLife™
    1GB ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD5470
    500GB 5400rpm
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit
    Integrated 10/100 Network Card
    8X CD/DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive)

Two problems that came with this laptop - and they showed up right after I booted the laptop up for the first time - are:
    1) The time it takes for this laptop to progress from booting screen w/ Dell logo to the actual desktop itself is roughly about 5 minutes. I will never complaint about this if it's something like 2-3 years old or refurbished, but a NEW model laptop to take that long to boot up is really unacceptable for me. Hell, my 3 years old desktop with 2 GB of RAM and a Dual Core CPU only takes about 2-3 minutes to boot up, and its HDD is full of stuff.

    2) After I finished uninstalling some bloatwares and reboot the computer, my windows explorer somehow became corrupted. I almost scream "Are you ****ing kidding me??? How could a brand new laptop become ****ed up just by removing an AV program???" *Note: This happen on the same day I receive it from the postman*

Does anyone else ever experience this type of absurdity? Can anyone offer me an advice? I tried contacting the customer service, and some foreign guy from technical support did actually walked me through the troubleshooting. However, these problems persist and randomly show up from time to time. Right now, all I really want to do is getting my money back and never get myself involved with Dell again. Never.

Reinstall your Windows from the scratch should fix your problem. It sounds like software problem not the hardware.
