I am having a replacement system and have some questions.

Right now I have a Dual-Core 2.0, but Dell wants to send me a T2390 1.86 and promised me it is a Core 2 Duo, and therefor faster..so I shouldn't complain.

Everywhere I google says otherwise, so did he just blow smoke up my butt?

It depends on who you get. Some of them are horrible, though the good ones are really good. Though I admit, the good ones are difficult to come by.

They are supposed to send an equivalent or better system as a replacement, he shouldn't have sent a slower processor.

    Yah.

So now the ridiculous part. Since it has been "pre-production" I have to receive it, and then call and complain about it. Complaining about it before it is shipped is futile.

Not the same. And wow, they are being douches now and have canceled. Unless a C2D shows up in a config, I am going ballistic.

Yes, it's a rather significant step down. Might want to bring these (above) processor stats to their attention.

Actually the processor they are giving you is a "pentium" dual core processor. The previous processor you had was also a "pentium" dual core. The new one clocks slightly lower (1.86 vs 2.0), otherwise, they are from the same family. The core2duo starts at the T5xxx series. I am sure they are settling for that processor since the other one is not availible. Case in point, you can no longer get a t7250 on the 1420 - but you can get a t58xx. Mine being faster than the other option.

How have the other specs changed, if at all?
