I have compared them at the Dell site and the 410 is a little heavier due to the CD....and I think the X1 has a 3 cell Battery....

Does anyone have any hands on experience between the 2?

Is the X1 more for show and the 410 more for processing? That is all I could determine. I am trying to stay away from the 14" which is a better value but I want some processing power in a 12".

    Thank you

You are correct. The X1 does have a 3 cell battery and separate optical drive which is why it is so much lighter than others in its class. The X1 is the lightest notebook on the market, but you will have to forfeit important features. You will lose some port options and processing speed.

The D410 does have a better processor with a choice of 1.86 and 2.0 (there is also an option for 1.6).

Eventhough I don't like small laptops, I would go with the 410 because I've heard better reveiws on it, and I think it is the best looking latitude. My problem with it is that it doesn't have an optical drive, but you can get the media bay expansion slot. If you don't use an optical drive very often, then you'll be fine with the 410.

If you haven't already, you might want to check out our reviews on each:
    D610
    D410
    X1

    Hope this helps,

    Thank you Southern Girl.

It looks like the 410 is the winner....especially after reading the reviews.

The X1 is for show and the 610 looks to be a bit older technology....

The 410 seems to fly in a small package and that is what I want.

Thanks again....and with Dell I know what I am getting and who I am dealing with.

    Regards

    Elliot
