I have a new 1705 laptop (thanks for your previous help).

I am not thrilled with the screen. I have it so everything looks great but it's so SMALL. When I adjust the preferences, yah it makes things bigger but then it looks BLURRY or kind of HAZY.

I don't understand why on my old PC with a 17" screen I had it all perfect, never strained my eyes but this notebook, I just can't get it to look right.

What do you suggest for a setting on this so that I can see menu items pretty big and still have graphics look sharp etc? Any idears? THANKS!!!

For gaming, set it to the native resolution (do you have WUXGA or WSXGA?) for best results.

For internet and other applications, the native resolution is very small (especially for WUXGA) and some don't like it. That's why a number of laptop users go for the lower resolution screens. Unfortunately with laptop LCDs, when you go out of the native resolutions, text and pictures are not their sharpest. You can try to sharpen text through the display properties>advanced>dpi (make it larger or smaller according to your taste).

Hope that helps. BTW I had an e1705 with the WUXGA display and I know exactly what you're talking about.

    I have a WUXGA. Rats.

If I had known that, I wouldn't have bought it. My main purpose is internet surfing, music + photos. I don't plan on gaming / watching DVDs.

    ARG!!!!!!

Well it is pretty sweet nonetheless.

    Thanks

For websurfing, if you download Firefox, which is a browser like Internet Explorer, it lets you increase the size of everything on the page, and doesn't make anything look blurry.

To increase the font sizes such as those in the control panel/folders/taskbar etc.. go to Control panel>Display>Appearance and it will give you an option to increase font size.

    Those 2 things help immensely.
