    Hey guys

Getting back into gaming and I was wondering what is a awsome game for me to play on my XPS 1530, 8600GT.

I have played Doom so far and bio shock, which they were both meh!

Im looking for scarry, gor, blood guts, as you are almost in your worst nightmare. Im looking not to sleep at night cause the game is so scary.

    Thanks.

Remember it needs to be able to be played on a 8600gt

    Scary = F.E.A.R.

Freakout Scary = System Shock 2 if you can find it.

Been looking and that system shock 2 is rare and some people are asking £70.00 plus for the game. ebay was 100.00

    = 140.00 to 200.00 $

    Too much for me

    Crysis =)

I had to do some tweak searching though to have it run high at 1280X800

so be ready to do the same if you ever think of getting it.

    Ok

Just went to town on my lunch and bought:

fear and stalker as they were buy 1 get 1 free.

But people are now telling me that stalker has a issue with vista 32bit and i got to download a bunch of driver exe files bla bla bla just to run it.

Has this been updated, does anyone know >?

    Thanks

play FEAR only in dark room, alone, after 11 pm (till 5 am), keep door open behind you, set difficulty to something high, don't eat and drink before and while playing, and check often behind you in-game for ennemies... play the game, live the game. And remember to shoot the death bodies in head with shotgun (many ammo), they could be still alive, don't trust the dead.

Want some adrenaline ? try to melee the ennemy. :)

Coolest games ? dunno which work well on vista, but the list is very long... Try Vietcong, you won't sleep while playing.

    This topic is very subjective.

I dunno...I thought Doom 3 (which I couldn't finish) was scarier than FEAR.

I agree about SS2, good game if you can find it.

F.E.A.R. was very good with the best AI since the first Half-Life (enemies will circle around you if they have a chance) and the scary stuff was really creepy, but the levels got too monotonous. How many look-alike offices and warehouses do we need? The story was predictable as to what the Big Secret about you is, but it has probably the best last two seconds of a game ever.

I hated S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Ran like ass until a bunch of patches and graphics card upgrades, looked ugly, and is brutally difficult. I hear there are mods which help make the game playable, but I'm too far in to restart to take advantage of it and totally stuck in a situation where there are way more enemies than I've got guns and bullets for. If there was a God code that I could toggle to get past this spot, I'd be a lot happier, but there isn't, so I may as well have given the $30 I wasted to charity instead. Would've done everyone more good.

I recently got my Dell XPS 1530 with the following specifications..

    Intel T9300 2.5ghz processor
    4gb ram
    NVIDIA 256 mb graphics card
    320 gb hard disk
15.4 ultra sharp 1680*1050 TFT screen.. with Windows vista ultimate..

I have played crysis by putting it to medium settings and i must say it worked like a charm!!

For those with similar config to mine... try call of duty 4 as well!!

Ah yeah.. it wasn't too scary. Doom 3 scared the balls out of me.. I cannot think of a more frightening game besides FEAR.

Just wished there was something out there that would put hair on your eye lids know what im saying.

We got lots of action/war games.

I want some horror, real life like, im in the game stuff.

They should make a game of the ring 1 or grudge 1 and make it multi/ player worldwide interaction./ Some investigating and lots of horror.

Um...System Shock 2 should be commons by now, if its not, bugger it, the download really isn't that big. There is a patch out there thats fan made that upgrades all the shaders and quality to a reasonable standard by todays standards.

If you want horror....Cthulu? Or just turn on the nightly news

True, you can find System Shock 2 rather cheap these days via torrents. :D
