Can somebody run CPU-Z on it and pull up the specs?
I have searched everywhere for info on this chip, I know the general specs but I want to know where it falls on the Intel lineup. The only thing searches turn up is discussions on Vostros. The chip is OEM, but does Dell have a exclusive on it? They are the only ones selling it right now in the Vostro line.
It is really weird offering, doesnt' match up with the Santa Rosa odd numbering scheme and I wonder if it is just a halfed ass high end COre 2 that failed QC and they disabled the faulty parts.

Here you go
Top one is on full performance while bottom is in power saving (steps down core speed and fsb) -
Its basically a lower clocked version of the T7100. 7100 runs at 1.8ghz and has 2mb of l2 cache like the T5470. Also I might add it has a 800mhz fsb.
-
fixed link -
woah, only a 400mhz bus.. i thought it had 800?
-
Its in power saving mode. One of the new perks for the santa rose chips.
-
how does the chip compare to the higher end ones... say a T7300? Would we notice a big performance jump? (is it worth 200 extra?)
-
Probably not, mostly clock speeds. Although I believe the higher end ones support virtualization in hardware, and these lower end models do not.
-
So the T5470 is on the Santa Rosa platform? It does run at 800 FSB right?
Thanks -
That's the other thing, 667Mhz. Sorry I new there was something I forgot.
Hmm atleast that's what Dell's purchase page says, but these screen caps seem to say 800 at full speed? -
Did anyone try a superpi on the T5470? Curious to know how fast it is.
-
umm no the 5470 is a 800mhz chip according to intel..
-
Speed was not a huge issue for me, because I do my heavy lifting work on my 2.8Ghz C2D Desktop system. So I just bought my M1330 with the T5250 which is in the same line. So I will see how that goes.

It does run on a 800MHz FSB, but I believe it may be missing hardware virtualization technology. It runs full speed at 1.6GHz, unlike the first screenshot, which shows it at 1.2GHz.
-
Yes my first screenshot was taking while the cpu was stepping up to its full 1.6 ghz. As chuck stated, it seems to be a santa rosa with 800 mhz fsb just like the other models on the line but it is missing hardware virtualization.
-
the T5470 is nothing but T7xx without VT technology (virtualization)
-
-
So if I had to decide between a 1.5ghz and 1.66ghz (50 dollar price difference) do the ghz differences matter.
-
any opinions on the above question?
-
This is not worth a 50$ price difference. It's very unlikely that you would notice a difference.
What is the story with the Core 2 Duo T5470?
