I just noticed that Dell updated the name 700M to 710M, but can't find any difference in specifications or price?
Is it that Dell realized that the 700M is really good and wanted to reduce its quality to make more profite??
I mean my roommate has a 700M and its robust and dependable..

There the exact same thing. The 710 has a white keyboard, and maybe another minor change like that. To my understanding, the hardware in both machines is the exact same. Perhaps the 710m has more / better fans, because it now supports the 7200RPM HD, and the 700m never gave you the option to upgrade to a 7200RPM HD.

As noted, they are nearly identical outside of case design changes.

I was wondering. Does the 710M, or even the later 700M for that matter, have less "clunky" touchpad buttons???

Yeah. The whole specifications for the 700m & 710m are exactly the same but the 700m features the white trim & black keyboard while the 710m has silver trim & white/light grey keyboard.
I'm not sure about the 710m's touchpad buttons but my 700m which I got it in Nov is quite "clunky" in my opinion. -
okay... too bad, guess they didn't even care to fix it...
What is this 710M??
