    What is this device?

    I installed vista in a dual-boot config, but there is still one device that isn't working. I think it's the firewire, but I installed every chipset and network driver I could find at Dell.com (couldn't find any labeled 1394 exactly though). I know it isn't the modem either, I already installed those drivers...
    I have attached a pic, thanks for any help.

    First of all, this isn't a representative of a piece of hardware. Most people on the Interwebz seem to concur that it's not a serious problem and some have fixed it with a driver update on the NIC or wireless card.

    1394, sounds like the firewire port.

    yeps, for sure thats firewire. plug in something firewire and see if it works.
