Was helping a friend to customize a XPS M1730 laptop to the best specs, when I was just SHOCKED to see the retarded prices Dell charges for some upgrades.

    S$1749 (US$1253) to upgrade from a T7500 to a X7900 processor. What the heck...?

Another $1564 (US$1120) to upgrade an extra 2GB of RAM? Holy crap. I do hope the person who typed this was drunk.

Generally, DellSG is about 20 - 30% more expensive when compared to DellUS, but this is just bloody ridiculous.

All companies do that. Call it a stupidity tax on people who just need to have the top of the line.

I agree that top of the line always commands top dollar but just like the price of the standard items, they always vary from region to region and I have to say that Singapore's prices are through the roof...!

Back in Sep. I believe Dell Europe wanted an extra €400 for the 4GB option (that's above the pre-configured 2GB cost). A silly price but still tame compared the the SG figures above...
