My order got shipped on Saturday, i got my tracking number to see where it was and it was in Nashville, TN and the shipment was "Acknowledged" and when i check again 2 days later it's still in Nashville, with the same "Shipment Acknowledged" status.. Now, i'm not sure but dell gave it to DHL on Saturday (june 7th), and i'm not sure if DHL works on weekends. Do you think that it will ship any time soon?

It won't get picked up until Monday. Dell uploads the tracking number way before its picked up.

Actually, it was acknowledged yesterday for me. So I would assume that they work on the weekend too?

Dell does, I dunno about DHL doing pickups.

DHL acknowledging a shipment may just be Dell scanning the barcode and uploading it to DHL to be picked up or something.

I believe they work on weekends in terms of "shipping" packages, but deliver only on week days.

My company owns DHL here in Rochester, NY. Yes DHL delivers and works on Saturday, here at least. The problem that so many people have with DHL, is they are not all owned by a central company, and subject to the same work standards. It's a franchise of sorts, so I guess it can be hit or miss depending on your area.

They typically dont do work on weekends unless you pay hefty shipping. As for the tracking mine was off as well. I tried tracking and from the looks it would have taken forever, but it actually came really fast.

I called DHL to arrange pick-up of my new laptop since I was going to be at work all day, on the day it was scheduled to be delivered. They told me no problem, they'd hold it for me. When I got there to pick it up, I was told it was already delivered and signed for by my neighbor.

Uh, what? DHL is not a franchise and it is owned by Deutsche Post.

Dell often gets things ready to ship on Saturdays by preparing the tracking code and inputting the billing information. However, it is not going any where until Monday.

I am going to try to call dhl again to see what is happening, it still hasn't changed at all still in "Shipment Acknowledged" status. i called dell and the automated order status line siad that it was picked up by the carrier and was in transit, but then i look in the website(DHL) and it hasn't moved.. i'm not sure if they don't update that fast but i really hope that it is already on it's way

You can call Dell, and have them (the rep) call DHL and get a *verbal* as to exactly where your notebook is, while you are on *hold*. Or, they can 3-way you in on the conversation.

Dell did this for me, when there was a situation with my delivery status. ;)
Just be nice to the Rep, but firm that you would them to do this for you.

If, you want them to do this for you, that is ;) :)

    Good luck! :D

I'd call the Dell rep. I called DHL numerous times when I ordered a Dell desktop in November for my sister. It was lost in the mail for over a week. I called DHL numerous times with no prevail, and finally called Dell. Dell promised to ship a new one if it wasn't found within x amount of time (as it was supposed to already be with me and I was needing it to take to her). Next day the package showed up - it was sitting in the warehouse, no idea why - probably someone wanting a nice new machine for a christmas gift. Pathetic that both the machine AND the monitor were lost. I hate DHL..they give me nothing but trouble.
