    It says it comes with

    8X Slot Load Super Multi (DL DVD+/-R Drive + RAM support)


    So.. does that mean I can burn dual layer dvds? light scribe? what..

    I guess it's the same sony optiarc from the 1537.
    You can burn dual layer dvd but no light scribe.

    According to the firmware updates on the 1555's download page, it uses a TSST DVD drive, and Sony Optiarc Blu-Ray drive. The old 1535-1537 models also had an Optiarc model for the regular DVD drive, but there's no firmware update, so it's hard to tell.
