I may be getting a Vostro 1400 and I am planning on upgrading the memory to 2GB myself. Can someone please help me with what RAM I should get?

    Look for DDR2-667(PC2-5300/5400) 200-pin SO-dimm ram

Check out the Hot ram deals thread for great prices on ram.

The Vostro 1400 uses 200 pin DDR2 SODIMM RAM, as Kdawgcaalready mentioned. The frequency is 667 MHz (PC 5300/5400). Also, look for reputable brand modules, such as OCZ, Corsair, Kingston, Crucial, as they have the least compatibility problems.
