i heard it was the same sound as 1400, and 1500... which is terrible if you are a gamer... can anyone confirm?

I have a Vostro 1500 that I'm returning for screen problems, but I can say that the sound is excellent for a laptop. When I play a DVD I can really hear the voices crisp and clear with plenty of volume without distortion. I'm not a gamer, so can't vouch for sounds in games.

Until I got the Vostro, I had an earlier Compaq Presario that I bought, partially, because it had excellent sound. The Vostro has better sound than the Presario, IMHO.
