    Hi all...

Since I've made my choice to buy an 1520 I have some doubts regarding the recovery media...

I know they will give the drivers media along with the laptop... But other than that will they give the installation CD of DELL MediaDirect, Windows Vista Recovery DVD and any other CD/DVD for installation of Dell Softwares ?

When I got my D630 it came with a Windows CD and a CD with PowerDVD. No drivers, no diagnostic software, no resources, no recovery CD. I had to call and have them send a resource CD with drivers and diagnostics on it. They weren't authorized to send a recovery CD, I am assuming since my machine came "with media." That's just my two cents.

When i got my dell desktop, i was surprised that they included the actual XP install disk, with the drivers on another disk. I deff. like that better then my 'toshiba recovery disk' and the HP 'rescue partition'(to cheap to put the thing on 2 DVD's, so instead they waste 8 gigs of hard drive space)

Even if they dont include the vista install disk, there is a way to get your COA number(it isnt the same as the one on your sticker) and use the vista upgrade anytime DVD to get a fresh install of whatever version of vista you bought. I am pretty sure it does not break the EULA either, as you are using the OEM key, on the OEM system.
