What software do I need to play Blu-Ray disks on my Inspiron?

Hello.

I purchased an Inspiron N7010 17R. I replaced the hard drive and did a fresh install of Windows 7 using my own Windows 7 Disk.

I went to Dell's support site to download drivers and necessary software but the options for restorative applications seem to be slightly limited.

What I'm missing is;

Webcam software.
Blu-Ray software.

I can't find it anywhere in their download driver/software listings using my service tag.

I put in a DVD disk and it plays fine in WMP.

I put in a Blu-Ray disk and it makes the usual disk drive noises and, after a short while, nothing happens. I can see the contents in Windows Explorer. In WMP it tells me that there's no playable content.

I'm assuming I need to get Dell's software for these two pieces of hardware to function properly.

Can anybody please tell me where I can download or acquire the required Blu-Ray and webcam software for my laptop?

Webcam is now working perfectly. Downloaded Webcam Central.
Now I just need to get my Blu-Ray playblack sorted out and the computer will be 100%

 

I see you found the webcam software, so this reply is limited to the Blu-ray player issue. Though the same thing holds true for other optional software that can be ordered with a Dell system.

Due to the way Dell licenses certain software, it isn't available for download. The reason for that is that a full download would install a working copy without requiring a serial number, and that means anyone could download it and install it, whether they originally bought a Dell system or not.

Dell sometimes makes patches or upgrades available for that type of software, but not a full install.

You could try requesting a set of backup discs from Dell here, but that normally only contains the OS and Dell's drivers/utilities, not optional application software. You might try using that form to specifically request the application restore CDs.

If that doesn't work, you're going to need to purchase another copy of the player software. Depending on which program it was, the company that wrote it (for example, Cyberlink for PowerDVD) may offer you a discounted upgrade to the "full retail" version from the OEM version that came with your PC. Be sure to check what constitutes proof of having an OEM version - if you buy something that then says "Please insert your original OEM product CD", you haven't accomplished anything.

I don't want much; I just want to pop a disk in and watch a movie once in a while. Maybe line it out to a large TV. That's it.

What's the absolute cheapest software BD-ROM media player out there that can accomplish this?
