Im getting really tired of this notebook. It's just one problem after another.

Normally when im listening to music the HDD light will just flikker and load little bits at a time. But lately it has been loading for very long stretches where the light stays completely lit. When this is happening the computer locks up and I cant do anything else. And this happens even when nothing else is running, and it does it on both WMP and QT. Also even when it isnt doing this, music has a hard time playing when it's loading anything else.

Any ideas as to what could be wrong? And is there a HDD test somewhere?

Also another problem is with the regular disk drive. It does this thing where it just skips over and over or makes weird poping sounds. It does it with audio CDs, MP3 CDs, and DVDs. What's really weird is going back to a restore point fixes the problem for a little while. I dont install anything so I doubt its something I eep doing to it

These are the drives I have...

How many processes do you have running in your task manager when you are playing your music?

If you still have your partition 1 on your laptop, you can run a series of diagnostics test (hit F12 when you reboot and select diagnostics utility).

I did the HDD test and it said everything is ok. Although it took FOREVER. Like 2 hours and 15min.
