    What the hell, Vostro 1500 has a black screen when i hit the power button

    The laptop only has one status icon lighted up, the power one and the screen is all black, not even powered.

    is this a known issue or should i call dell?

    the battery icon flashes briefly. only once when i hit the power key did the laptop go into startup mode with the dell logo saying something like bios revision 4 but it froze in the process.

    If it doesn't work on your first power-on, then there is a problem with it. Call Dell.

    called dell, i have to send it in. hmm... i think im just going to return this thing and go for lenovo.
