What type of graphics slot does E1505 have?

I just recent purchased a new Core DUO E1505 with ATI X1400 256MB HyperMemory. I was wondering what slot does dell use with this model? Is it PCIe or AGP. Is it AXIOM, MXM, or dell propriotary.

Just wondering about possible future upgrades (Mobility X2300, whenever that comes out). Possible? or not a chance. Coming from building custom PCs for my self, its really frustrating lack of options. Hopefully its atleast some sort of standardized port.

    Thanks much,

I think it is a PCI-E. Special to notebooks

It's PCIe - MXM is only for Nvidia and not all nvidia at that. If dell is selling an xXXXX in the future for the same model, than yes, it could work just like they are selling the Nvidia card along with X1300 and X1400 for the e1505

So it could work, but does Dell sell stand alone notebook cards? If they do, then there is hope!

If there's any upgrade I do hope that the card is as powerful or even more powerful than X1600 :)

No you can't upgrade the graphics on any dell laptops currently. The only dell laptop that you could ever upgrade the graphics on was like the 1st gen XPS laptop I think, but you cant upgrade the graphics in the future... look in the gaming thread for more info its a sticky

It is impossible to upgrade the graphics card past anything Dell offers. If anyone wants to know, it is impossible to upgrade the E1505 w/ Integrated graphics to anything else.

The X1400 256MB (actually 128MB dedicated + 128MB shared) is the best card offered. All new notebooks use PCI-e. PCI-X is different than PCI-e:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI-X

And the card is Dell-specific as posted. You typically won't find MXM (AXIOM is largely dead) on anything but a third-party notebook.

I know its impossible to upgrade past what dell currently offers. But if dell offers something better in the future for the E1505 then is it feasable?

On the gameing forum, it says that dell is the exception to upgradablility. They do sell graphics parts. I'm not talking about 3rd party. I'm talking about future graphics solutions for the E1505.

Dell is the exception to upgradeability to an extent. Don't plan on buying a laptop and upgrading the graphics later on. It most likely won't happen.

pcguy, yes. For example, with the latest bios, you could buy the new gforce go that is now available for 1505 and put it in, not that you would. The x1400 is still more powerfull.
