I'm planning to get a I9300, and I was wondering which upgrades should I make. I'll be using my labtop for mainly watching movies and burning DVD-Rs.

Well turns out that Media Center seems to be built on xp Pro so that is a cheap way to get pro and a bunch of neat toys.

If I was going to spend that much on upgrades I would of gone for the Inspiron XPS Gen 2, which is a $100 more with all the same upgrades. I'm trying to spend around $1500 after the $800 coupon. And what bout the hd speed should I for of the 100gb or the 60gb 7200rpm. Does it made a big difference if I'm using a 128mb video card or a 256mb video card. I know it does make a difference for some video games, but I'll be using this notebook for watching movies not video games. I'm planing to upgrade the memory myself because it costs much less to do so. Should I get the UXGA with Truelife? And is upgrade the processor a needed thing if your just planing to watching and burning movies on dvd-r.

After some thought I decided to go with the I6000, because the I9300 is just to dam big to carry around, and over all you get more value for your money with the I6000. I only got 256mb of ram because I plan to replace it with 1 stick of 1.0gb PC2-4200 533mhz. I'm going to reformat the OS to Media Center 2005 or XP Pro.

    Dell I6000
    PM 760(2.0GHz)
    15.4" WSXGA+
    256mb ram
60gb 5,400rpm [still on the phone with the dell rep trying to get it change to a 7,200rpm]
    8X DVD+/-RW
    128MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300
    6 cell bat
    Bluetooth
    All for around $1,200
