I've never really been much into notebooks until fairly recently, so this is the first major change that I'll actually be aware of (with Centrino 2). So my question is, what will happen to the current Latitude series that is getting replaced (I think it is getting replaced anyway)? Will they still be sold but for much cheaper? Or will they get updated?
Thanks.

Eventually they will be discontinued after the E Series has been released.

There will most likely be a sale on them just prior to release of the E series or some time after. Like the great sale they had on the D420s a few weeks before.

The E series should be out when Centrino 2 (Montevina) is released. They will have the new chipset in them. According to Intel's timeline it should be out as easly as May, but I wouldn't expect it really until the beginning of June at earliest to see the E series Latitude. See the main page under news for sneak pics of the E series.
I just can't keep up with lappies or technology anymore. I just got a Penryn Precision M4300 all decked out and now you see Montevina is only a couple months away. -
What about the Vostro line?
Will they be getting updated? -

I don't think that the Vostro is in line for immediate replacement... and apparently neither does Dell. (No promotional pricing on Vostro right now).
I realize that Dell is always offering promotional pricing on something, but these discounts seem to be a bit more generous than many.
What will happen to the Latitude D630?
