    Hello all,
I got a Dell Inspiron 6400 just over a year ago and want to sell it now for a M1330, just wanna know how much I should advertise it for, these are the specs:
    2.0 Ghz Processor
    120GB Hard Drive
    2048 Ram
    15.4" Screen
    256 Mb Graphics Card
    Dell 3 Year Warranty
    etc.
It's a pretty good system I think, hasn't given me any problems, just too heavy for college.
Also, under the standard Dell Warranty is there anyway I could send it to them to make sure everything is in good knick? Without explicitly saying it's for resale that is, or am I entitled to do that anyway?
    Thanks,
    Mike.

Given that it's in good condition, no major problems have been encountered...

    I'd say somewhere between $1000-1400.

You may think it's low, but you have to remember that the technology in the older line of Inspirons has been out-dated

In my opinion, no one will pay over a $1000 for a used computer.

So I'd say $1000 or lower. No matter how good of a spec it has... I think people would buy a new computer for $1000 and up.

Maybe $1400 is a little high, but my laptop, in sig, has similar specs besides the smaller harddrive, and I would like to think I could get more then $1000.

IMO, you're looking at a range of $1000-$1200.

Ya I'd be cool with 1,400 definately...any of you know bout the warranty thing though? Theres a problem with the DVD drive sometimes, and I was just thinking that when I send it in for that they could maybe have a geneal look at everything...? Would that be unheard of...?

Just get dell to replace the drive...maybe sure its in top notch condition and you should be able to get more than $1000 out of it.

I'm not sure about how they conduct repairs and if they do some sort of multi-point inspection...

And about $1400...after looking at current notebook prices, someone could get a new, similarly if not better specced laptop for the same price or less.

Don't expect much more then $1000-$1200. It's "old" technology and it's also used.

Don't be crazy. You're not getting anything NEAR $1,400 for that piece of junk.

Is it a nice computer? Yes. Will it work just fine? Yes. Is its performance going to be good? Yes.

Will anyone pay that much for a used computer? No.

I might pay $600 for that computer. No more. The problem is that I can buy one equivalent to or BETTER THAN that right now with Dell Coupons or HP coupons for under $1,000. I could get those same specs without the graphics card at a store for $800.

Sorry, but it's just not worth that much. Dell computers don't retain their value well.

If you have a warranty, and can sign the warranty over to the new owner, you will have better luck selling the laptop for more than $800-ish.

    I'll take it for $400 USD. :)

But don't expect to see it go for more than $900. I sold my 9month old Macbook to get the Dell for $760.

The laptop would fetch no more than $800 for more, anything more is Ludicrous.

I am selling my 640M to my roomie for 700 with that same configuration.
