I'm planning on selling my m1330 and buying a MacBook, but I'm not really sure what price range I should be expecting to sell it for.
Mods, if I decide to formally post it for sale on here (I'd rather sell in person/locally), I will make a new post in the proper forum, in the proper format. I'm only looking for opinions right now.![]()
Specs are as follows:
13" TruLife screen @ 1280x800
Midnight Blue lid
CCFL Screen with 2mp webcam
Intel C2D 2.2ghz - 800mhz FSB
120gb HD
2gb DDR2 RAM
128mb NVidia 8400gs Video
Dell 1505 802.11n Wireless
Bluetooth
9 cell Extended Battery
Fingerprint Reader
Vista Home Premium
Over 2 years of Complete Care and Next Business Day Warranty left
(Purchased August of 2007)
What should I be asking/expecting? I priced out a similar laptop on Dell.ca (2.0ghz processor and 160gb HD, all other specs the same), and it came out to around $1750 (before tax).

You could check what similar laptops are going for on the Dell Outlet.
If you have a nice clear LG screen, be sure to mention it. I'm sure people would be willing to pay more if they knew they'd be getting a good screen (something Dell can't seem to ensure). -
I'm willing to bed you've never tried a Mac based upon your comment!
Honestly, I really thought that Mac's were crap too.....until I put Leopard on my m1330 and have been using it without any desire to go back to Windows. -
EBAY is the best place to find the market value of an item. Go there and look at the ongoing and finished auctions to determine an appropriate price.

In any case regarding your question, you should expect in the 700 to 800 range for it. Considering how cheap new m1330s have been selling for recently, this would be a fair estimate. Also, if you look on the Dell outlet website, you should get an idea of the fair market value. Just add about 100 dollars to the outlet price because you still have a 2 years CC left.
Another thing that you have to remember is that since you are located in Canada, the CC warranty will not transfer over to the US (only 3 year NBD onsite warranty can be transferred internationally), so the warranty would technically be useless for US purchasers. Thus, your best bet would be to sell it to someone within Canada is you can.
How much did you originally pay for the system? -

Meh, Leopard has never really impressed me and I've been using it since it came out.
I would say you should get around $1000 to $1100 for it since you have a decent warranty on it. Depends on the demand though. -
Thanks everyone for your input......except jack!

Seems I got your panties in a knot. Didn't realize it would affect people so severely that I've decided to use a Mac instead of a PC.
What's it worth?
