Hi, i've frequented the forum for a while now and I am strongly leaning towards a fully loaded XPS m1330 which will cost me about $2000 Canadian. I was wondering if it was worth waiting for the Montevina processor that is supposed to enhance speed and overall performance to about 3.1 ghz. With this in mind, how much would upgrading to a 3.1 ghz processor cost? I'm assuming way more than the 2.4 ghz Penryn I will be paying for currently.

Aside from that, what does Dell have in store for us in the upcoming near future, 2-3 months (Summer 2008). And do any of you suggest an alternative to the 1330, preferably 13.1" with the same performance value?

    Thanks for all your help,

    - redslumber  :D

Montevina (Centrino 2) platform is on the way, but I doubt there will be changes on m1330.

There will be always something to way in IT world, if you need a laptop now, there is no reason to wait anything. m1330 is excellent portable, stylish and powefull laptop.

The LG P300 is another excellent 13.3'' to consider...also if you are going to spent that much money on a notebook, you might as well get the best. But if there is a real need for a notebook. Then get one now...

    Sony SZ is a possibility.
