    Hi guys:

My original laptop came with an AUO screen which i immediately requested to be changed because i read a couple of comments regarding 14 inch AUO's and it also looked bad so i didn't want to stick with this grainy screen.

My replacement LCD is a samsung one, model SEC4457.

However, i still find it to be grainy and in comparison to HP LCDs mine looks pretty bad (however, i've been only able to compare with 1280x800 res laptops because i don't anyone out there who has a 1440x900 res LCD)

The thing is i've read plenty of topics regarding grainy screens and a lot of you find LG to be the best ones. However, i've never heard of anyone having an LG one in a 14 inch laptop.

Of you guys out there having 14 inch laptops (inspiron 1420 or vostro 1400), which screen do you have and are you pleased with it? Can it be that SEC is the best i can possibly get and that i will simply have to stick with it?

    Thanks

There are only two options with WXGA+ on 1420.

AUO and SEC. SEC is the better one but not flawless.

If you want a non a grainy screen. Get the WXGA (1280x800)

OK, but would asking for another SEC replacement maybe give me a better looking screen? Is it worth the try or should i simply stick with my actual SEC (which i honestly believe isn't very good looking at all... i hate how white backgrounds look)

    thanks
