When looking at Dells, what would you say is the best model in terms of build quality and durability? I'm interested to see what everyone thinks :)

i like my inspiron e1705, and a friend has an e1505 which is also really nice, but the latitudes are reputable for their very outstanding build quality and also the xps m1210

I have a Latitude D600 myself and I think the build quality is good. But it's hard to know because some of them seem so flimsy, kwim?

I would say the Latitudes or the Precisions. Also the XPS line. But technically, I don't think the Inspirons are that bad either. But I'd still stay that the Latitudes are the most durable, which is kinda sad because they have the weakest GPUs.

The 17" XPS/Inspiron and Precision M90 are very solid. They use Magnesium alloy for the LCD top cover and base. The build quality, performance and price are simply unbeatable.

Latitude or XPS. Both use magnesium alloy components in their structures.

I would give a Precision line thumbs up, but have seen and played around with all current models of Inspirons, they aren't that bad either.

Actually, the E1705/I9400/XPS M1710/Precision M90 all share the same exact build quality because they're all basically identical to each other (they're all built off of the same platform), except for the fact that some have some minor (or in the XPS' case, major) cosmetic changes and some hardware changes.

Talking about Dell's notebook lines, I'd have to say, from what I've experienced, Dell Latitudes and Precisions are built the best.

Oh that's good to know! Thanks :)
