I've got a 1501, AMD Turion x2 (TL-56) and would like to manage the cpu speed when I'm using a battery.

I've tried NHC, but it won't let me adjust the speed. (Although I'm pretty sure it used to, before I had to reinstall XP).

I've also got a copy of rmclock (but I haven't tried that yet).

    Does anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, XP/Vista. The default "presentation" mode or "laptop/portable" modes should keep the processor at the lowest clock speed when on battery. Use NHC or RMClock to monitor the speed, and play with the various power profiles so that you can see this for yourself.

I'm pretty sure it is set to portable, but nhc still shows the speed as always being 1800.

I'll check when I get home.

    Cheers for the advice.
