Just curious as to what the differences are between these two laptops. Seems like they're very similar to me.

As far as for uses,...Here is a link that does a comparison between the two. It gives you a chart to compare to see which is better (sorry for the long link).

As for the systems themselves, they are a few differences. The most obvious one is the size. The 600m is a little bigger (14.1 in) compared to the 700m (12.1 in). I've also seen some comments about the keyboard on the 700m being hard to get used to. Another plus for the 600m is that you have a few more options in ram and display. Display you can choose from 32 or 64, and the ram includes 768mb and 1.5gb in addition to the normal range. Also the battery life for the 700m is pretty short.

    Hope this helps,

    ~SG~

right, the 700m display is nicer though...I had a chance to use both of these notebooks and I preferred the 700m due to its beautiful, bright widescreen and better overall aesthetic look (the 600m is kind of, well, ugly IMHO). My complaints on the 700m were that it's too thick for a 12.1" portable and the battery life of 2 hours or less crimped my style -- I'm using the 12.1" screen IBM X41 right now and can more than double that battery life on this machine (gets 4 hours + 40 minutes on a good day).
