What's the real weight of the D630 and the M1330?

I've seen several reviews of the D630 that lists the weight as between 5.1 to 5.5 lbs with the 6 cell battery. Dell says that the D630 "starts at 4.37 lbs" with the DVD drive and integrated video.

For the M1330, most reviews give the 4.4 - 4.5 lbs with the 6 cell, which is in line with Dell's listing.

What's the real weight of these two systems?

I'm trying to decide between the two systems and would like to compare the weights. I'm wondering why there's such a big discrepancy for the D630 between reviewer-weight and Dell-weight. I can accept that the reviewers actually weighed the D630 and found that Dell understated the weight but I'm wondering if the numbers for the M1330 are accurate. I mean, one would assume that Dell also understates the M1330's weight to a similar degree. I'm just wondering if the reviewers for the M1330 didn't actually weigh the machines.

Having had the D620 in my hands (with extended batt) and now owning the m1330 (with extended batt), the m1330 FEELS lighter. I really don't know for sure if it is or not, but to me it feels easier to carry around with me.

Is the difference significant or not very significant? I'm pretty sure the 1330 is lighter but it's hard to judge without having them and without knowing the actual weights.

I'm upgrading from an 8.2 lb Inspiron 8200, so either one should be an improvement; I just want to get a feel for how much improvement and knowing the real weight would give me a better idea.

    I don't think it's significant......but if you're torn between the D630 and m1330, I'd definitely suggest the m1330. It's an incredible machine and I don't regret sending my D620 back.

I do like the 1330 but I'm having a hard time deciding if there are too many build quality issues right now to buy it.

The only issue I had with mine was slight warping on the screen lid. I contacted Dell and they offered me a $400 credit to keep it instead of sending it back.

Because there was nothing wrong functionally with the laptop I decided to keep it as the credit covers the cost of my 3 year Complete Care! :)

Alright, I think I'll go with the 4.5 lbs figure for the 1330 and the 5.5 lbs figure for the D630. Thanks!
