Of the 14" laptops that dell offers, which one has the best screen option?

You'll get the most usable (and most pixels) with the 1440x900 screen in the Latitude E6410. Unless you watch a lot of movies (which then 16:9 would be more desirable as to not have two black bars), that is the best resolution on 14".

For 16:10 resolutions, 1280x800 is too cramped vertically for my liking, and 1440x900 is just perfect. For 16:9 resolutions, 1366x768 is a bit low resolution (especially vertically), and 1600x900 will have very tiny text.

Thanks, I'm due to get a replacement for my laptop at my job and it looks like I will be offered either a Dell or MacBook as those are the two brands they seem to be standardizing on. It if ends up being Apple, I guess I'll go for their 15" but I was a bit unsure what to ask for if the choice is Dell as a supplier.

By the way, anybody know which Dell models have the best screen in 12" and 13" size?

The 13" LED-backlit screen in the E4300 is excellent. The 13" form factor is what I would recommend, 12" is a little too small, and they use slow ULV CPUs.

I agree with you, typically I would not go below 13". But I have some flexibility there as I have a 27" LCD on my desk at work. So for a work laptop I can afford to play with several possibilities. But I just want a quality screen when I am mobile. It doesnt have to be huge, but it must be of top quality. I'll look at the 4300....

Be sure to check the Outlet for the E4300, I got one for $1400 with 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and LED-backlit screen (which I think might be standard).
