I bought a Inspiron 1420, but I couldnt choose for it to come with an N-card(since I have an N router). Anyways, Id figure Id check to see if I could just buy it and install it. The thing is, I dont know what the difference is between these two:
1) http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A0917209
and this one
2) http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A0667389
Do both of these stick out from the side of the laptop? Id only want to purchase one if it didnt stick out and it just went inside the notebook.

Those both stick out, I believe one is ExpressCard and one is PCMCIA. You want an internal card, like this (I think) :
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=430-2406
or maybe this:

Also, be sure you don't buy PCMCIA and only buy express card if you do go with an external one... Dell doesn't put PCMCIA slots on the 1420...

The "g" wireless cards will work fine with an "n" router...
but if you want an "n" card (which should offer better range), here's a nice price on the Intel one:

Whats the difference between these two network cards?
