Hi, Can someone tell me if there is anything wrong with purchasing a laptop from Dell outlet.. a refurbished laptop that matches my config and having a one year warranty? I cant understand why they are overly low priced out there

I guess because at some point there was something wrong with the laptop, and most would rather buy new than a potential lemon. Sure, the problem might have been fixed, but who knows what else is wrong with it.

    To each his own...

I've bought two machines from Dell Outlet in my time here. First died in a week...but that was two some years ago. Second one was the D430 I'm using now...been solid for three months.

If you get a full warranty with it, there should be nothing wrong with purchasing from the outlet. :)
Getting tech support to get it right and actually fix the issue (if any arises), is another story. ;)
Jokes aside, you can find some good deals there. It's a bit like gambling, some times you win, some times you lose. :)

i just purchased dell xps m1530 off of dell outlet and i can't be more happy with it. it looks just like brand new, performs like brand new, and feels like a brand new. if anything goes wrong, you got 21 days to return and one year warranty=) go for it, and also, wait for 15% dell outlet coupon to come out. it wont be long. saved 200 dollars with that coupon=D

Yeah, most of the time the laptops from the Dell outlet are fine. You'll have to remember that buying any electronics is a gamble. I mean you can also get a lemon even if that item is purchased new...

Ive bought the XPS 1530 Im using now, a Vastro 1500, and 4 optiplex 745's. Two of the Optiplex's had scratches on the sides of the cases. Other than that I havent found anything wrong. Oh yes the desktops came with 3 year warranties, I bought the second year for the laptops.
So far, its working for me.

    well...they all belong to Dell...
Just don't like the idea of buying some "second hand" goods...not to mention that it is very difficult to be able to find the PC to the EXACT specifications as you would want it...so you'll most likely have to go with what they have...

P.S. wait for the Dell sales events...and you'll save BIG on brand new Dells...like right now (just bought a Dell m1530, maxed out hardwares, w/student & $700 off coupon, got it for under 1500.....sweet deal if you ask me...).

Thanks guys for your quick responses.

    I envy you.. :)

By the way, are there outlet coupons separate from the ordinary dell coupons? If so how frequent they come out.. and when and where can I find them.... I want to buy one in the next few days time..

They have been coming out quite frequently, as of late. Usually, Dell releases new coupons/promotions on Thursday.

Out of the 4 outlet notebooks I've recieved 3 of them in like new condition, while one of them came in the worst used condition both cosmetically and hardware wise. However regardless dell will work with you to fix it

I've bought 2 laptops, 3 desktops and a monitor from the Dell outlet store and had zero complaints with any of them. Even the ones labeled "scratch & dent" seemed to be in perfect condition.

i just got mine from the refurb store and it looks basically brand new

the config for this is pretty much the exact one i wanted just minus the 9cell battery instead of the 6cell battery so im pretty happy with it

Compared to the one my gf got a month ago, just going by the looks, no one even touched it :)
