    When Dell says they'll call you, do they?

    I was told that I would be getting a call from a dell customer service rep today on friday to handle a system exchange. Do they say this to get you off their tail?

    In the last year or two Dell has gotten really good with calling back. I've been impressed.

    Nevermind. She called saying she'll call tomorrow.

    90& of the time these reps will NOT call you back. It IS to get you off their tail. I have seen it time and time again.

    If you called into the XPS customer care or tech center that's a different story - you'll be looking at 95% of the time that they WILL call you back. XPS has really been great.

    Depends. I believe I have been called back twice, and not called back twice as well.

    LOL!!!! I returned a system and was reordering and the sales guy was to "call me back" and didn't ...his loss as another rep took my order...so go figure that....

    I called last Friday for my order status because my order was in production since 1/14 and the rep said it is in the final stages or production and will ship in 2-3 days. She offered to have a rep call me on Tuesday 1/29 to give me more information about the status and make sure everything was fine. She even confirmed my call back number.

    No call and no voicemail from dell yesterday :rolleyes:

    Not really a big deal as I know my order has now shipped and I've got a tracking number...BUT they did NOT call me as they said they would.

    I phoned Dell for help with my graphics card drivers - the guy on the phone as extremely helpful towards me, and even called me twice! - First time I talked to him online and he said he would call me 45 minutes later (which he did), and after that session he helped me out some more and he said he would phone me the next day to see how everything was (which he did!) And he was very friendly.

    Thats my experience with Dell though. :)
