    Hello,

Any idea when Dell will launch something similar to the Envy15 with i7 and unibody?

Also why no i7 on latitudes and precisions?

The better ranges of Dell are a bit old and not updated.

i doubt they will. Unibody is a silly marketing tactic that honestly doesn't offer any real advantages in terms of reliability and performance. Macbooks are the only ones that do a real unibody, and I think they've got the process patented.

I don't know about having the "process" patented. They've been milling aluminum for years.

It's only new to the computer industry. But old news for a mechanical engineer.

If you want durability, you don't go Unibody. You want a something with a solid framework with an expendable skin.

Cant argue there, I have a pile of broken UMBP's from drops, bends and vibrations which a cheapo with a framework would have survived.

and guys DONT get surfasb started on the avatar, that has hijacked MANY threads I have seen :D
