The reason why I am asking is because when I am customizing the laptop, I click on the works 8 plus which is 30 dollars more and on the left it shows a picture of Microsoft Small Office 07....so what exactly am I getting...Small office has the word excel and powerpoint...I cant believe for only 30 more I can get all of this. I think this is misleading people and I wanted to point this out. Basic works is what theyre giving me but I want the word excel...so is it possible i can save money and use my brothers cd and instalation code on my laptop when I get it? I think he has the Student and office one which has all the software i need. Thanks

No, Works and Office are completely seperate. Works Plus does however come with Word 2003.

Works is just OK. It has no where near the complexity Office 2007 provides. You can pick a cheap student edition up on the Internet...or if you are a college student...some colleges give Office away.

I have the same question .
What exactly is Microsoft Works 8 and which tasks can be performed with it ?
Is there any internet link giving info on microsoft works 8 ? -
Bascially, it's a watered down version of Microsoft Office, providing generally the same features but trimmed down.
When I configure the M1530...is Microsoft Works 8 Plus the same as Small office 07
