    When do dell actually, take the payment?

    I'm thinking of buying from dell, as a new customer. But i'm just wondering if dell take the payment, when the item is ready to be shipped?

    I'm just thinking about if there are any delays, might this effect the transaction?

    They check your card by putting a hold on the funds of the amount of the computer to make sure the money is there as soon as you order. However, your card is officially charged right before it ships out.

    There have been some instances of the actual charge not occuring until its been received.
