Simple question. I used a debit card and want to make sure the funds are always available.
My order status is "Shipped" and my available balance is full. The charge from my order date has disappeared, as it was just an authorization.
-
when your order is shipped
-
Mine was shipped today, still nothing. This is annoying, because with a debit card I need to keep a certain balance.
-
It can take some time to show up . Really depends on the card -
My card updates instantly, my balance & available balance match perfectly. I'm not complaining, I'm glad it finally shipped, I just wish they would tell me when they're going to bill.
-
Did you get an email stating your order has shipped? Or is are you just checking the status online. I think it takes awhile for Dells internals to sync up with itself.
-
Mines still not billed
-
My credit card was billed two day's after I received my order.

i asked that question and a dell rep told me that it was charged the second i completed my order(over the phone). then i called my credit card company and they told me that there is an amount of xxx on pend.

I'm honestly not certain about a debit card though.jehuty0110 likes this. -
It is the same situation with a debit card - Dell will do a pre-authorization that holds a certain amount unavailable on your card. Once your order is shipped, the actual amount will be deducted from your acct.

my order just shipped today, not billed yet. lol maybe they forgot about me!!! hey i can always hope

I was told today that it would be charged when the system was shipped

On July 23rd, I bought my notebook with PayPal. They debited the funds from my debit card, then put them back the next day. Today, due to some confusion with the Dell Customer Service, I canceled my order and re-ordered it. Just 1/2 hour ago they charged my PayPal account and I am pretty sure they will put it back tomorrow because it is just an authorization. In short, I think they authorize your payment method, then debit the funds when the order leaves their warehouse.

I got it billed to my card the day before it arrived
so it can take some time, basically the whole procedure begins once the product is shipped. -
I used a debit/credit card to purchase my laptop. They deducted the money off my account about 2 or 3 days after I received my laptop. I thought they had forgotten about me too. But trust me, they will get their money.
When does Dell actually charge the credit card?
