I ordered my laptop in July and used my debit card. It shipped yesterday and is in my home town with the delivery guy. (I missed the delivery since I was at work, I'll pick it up tonight or wait for them to deliver again tomorrow).

Dell did not charge my debit card yet. I'm just wondering when the transaction should go through?

My credit card was charged the day it shipped (8/16), but it didn't post to my account until the 19th.

Dell charges as soon as it ships, but banks usually take a few days to catch up.

I guess the hold-up is with the bank then. It's a good thing the money is still in my account. That was hard to do, keeping all that $$$ in there for 44 days just incase Dell decided to ship.

They charged my DPA card the day I ordered it... but the billing cycle won't start until it ships for me which was yesterday so should be getting a statement in the mail soon.

I know of at least two instances where the unit has shipped prior to final hold being put on the credit card funds...

Well, Dell decided they'd charge my card the day after I placed my order, which was 51 days ago now and still no laptop.
