The penryn processors are finally out, but the price of the m1330 jumped up a couple hundred without the great coupon and 799 deal . I planned on waiting untill Feb 14 since thats when the 499 deal was suppose to expire, but now it looks like it has been extended untill feb 29. Does anyone here believe that the price should drop in the next couple of weeks, or am i going to be waiting for nothing. I've heard somewhere someone was able to price match later on, how long of a time period do you have to price match after your purchase with Dell?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i personally think the discounts will come back. without the discounts dell's pricing is not very competitive.

just be patient. of course it could be 2 to 3 months from now.

I am also waiting on this since the only option for CPU now is either the base 2.0 Merom or a 2.6 Penryn which costs +$470 in Canada.

Dell just raised the discount from 499 to 599, but took away the LED as included, added the 3 gb of ram, and the 5400 rpm hard drive is no longer an option,. At the end the price actually increased for me since you were first able to subtract lojack for 100.

    bah

Ultimately, it's still the same $499 off, but Dell is now throwing in an extra 40GB of HDD (from 160GB 7200rpm to 200GB 7200rpm) for free. Eh.

is it better to purchase the laptop online or through telesales, would you be able to bargain at all, by throwing in a couple of acces.? Or does that rarely happen

Near the end of each quarter usually brings out the better discounts.
