Its been just over a year(right?) since they released the M1210, and since then the only thing they have changed, has been the processor.

Realistically, how long do you think it'll be, before they do other updates to it? I'm looking to get a portable laptop, and right now its between this guy, and the macbook(dual booting XP) The big reason i am considering it along with the macbook, is because of its graphics card. I'm willing to hold off on OSX if i can actually play some games on the thing. Problem is, the go7400 is starting to show its age and i really dont want to get one only to find out it'll be replaced with the next gen low-mid range gfx card(8400?) in the next few months.

I imagine that along with Santa Rosa's release we'll start to see new laptops being released, but I wouldn't hold my breath for too much of a bump in a 12 notebooks gaming power. GPUs get HOT :D

Yea I think once santa rosa comes out with the new gpus we will see an updated 1210. However, I dont think they will do any or very little changes to the actual design of the 1210.

I say have patience. Santa rose is coming out in late April, early May something like that. Won't take Dell long to role out a new line up including a new 12" I'd imagine. Dell is always one of the very first to get them rolling.

Although like I said dont expect a brand new 1210 design. The 1210 is a very solid design.

Yeah, but even a small jump in performance is welcomed :)

The earliest i was planning on ordering it would be after WDC, when i assume Apple will launch OSX 10.5.

It is still less than one year since their release. Dell started selling the M1210 on the last week of May 2006.

if anything the bigger models need a design change, theyve been using the same design since 2005 when the 9300, and 6000, and xps m140 came out
