I've gotten my e1405 down to $907 shipped and I'm close to pulling the trigger and buying it. But, should I wait until after Christmas to do this? I'm not really in any hurry so I'd be ok waiting a few weeks to get a better price. What are the odds of it either going down in price or of a new onslaught of great coupons in the week/s after Christmas? Anyone remember anything from previous holiday seasons?

I'm guessing prices will fall at Dell a bit post-Holiday season.

I wouldn't wait too long if you need a notebook...you can keep waiting for the technology to improve and the prices to fall.

Are you willing to pay $907? If so then buy it. Simple as that. What if the prices go up? And they just might. Notebooks will be going to an 800MHz FSB, better chipsets, etc. If you get the same notebook weeks later it will be that much older and the new ones will be out sooner. You may save a little but you have to ask yourself is it worth the wait.

Maybe I will just wait for one more drop in price and then I'll buy.

Is that price with the 20% coupon applied?
The only way it could get any cheaper is if Dell puts out the rare 30% coupon, or the $750 coupon, which we haven't seen in a long time.
Did you talk to Dell sales over the phone to get that price?

The closer you get to christmas, the more likely the price is to rise.

You may get some deals rigth afterwards, though.

The 20% coupons I could find wouldn't work for me. I think they may have reached their maximum number of redemptions. If you know of any others if would certainly drop the price.

I got my price by starting with a value code that put the e1405 starting at $649 i believe. Then I added what I needed.

With the 20% off coupons, they may need to be used with specific E-Value code models, just to let you know.

Check every Thursday. My aunt told me that when she was looking for a E1505 for here son the operator told her that the best deals are on Thursdays.

Didn't really mind to her because she only paid $750 for a $1700 laptop with her state discount.. woot!
