Well, it just looks alittle funny like there is a line that part of the picture is shifted over. Here is a screen shot:

It may be the files from this site I'm getting or windows media player. Any ideas? They are HDTV recordings on a torrent site. heroes, my name is earl, and the office have them...haven't watched anything else.

    Thanks

First try updating your drivers. You can get the latest nVidia drivers from laptopvideo2go.com. Most probably that will fix it.

If that doesn’t work then google for VMR9 video tearing issue. I don’t have much knowledge about this problem, but I’ve seen people discussing it in the past.

okay, I'm totally with you on this issue and have contacted tech support in order to get this issue solved ( unfortunately they didn't get back to me in hopes I would go away ).....but anyway, here's my story. Purchased an M1330 and a 1420 both with the same specs ( 2ghz, 2GB Ram, Nvidia 8400GS card, etc...) Loaded a DVD in both and am experiencing exactly what you have on the screen and it happens especially on action shots where it looks like one part of the screen folds over the other part ( like a cutting effect ) when a movie or game movie is running. I've tried PowerDVD, Nero's showtime and used Dell Media center and it will do it on both computers. Funny enough, where it doesn't do it is in Windows Media Center and also in Dell's Media center where you don't have to boot into the operating system to watch a DVD, listen to music, etc. I've uninstalled and reinstalled enough Nvidia drivers ( mobile 155.XX through 158.XX or 163.XX desktop version ) and it hasn't changed anything. I don't know what's causing it, but fortunately like I said for me Windows Media Center doesn't show the problem, but video game play ( video sequences), full screen you tube, or any DVD playing software experiences this strange problem. I was hoping for more people that had this issue, so Dell would do something about it, but so far this is one of the first threads I've read about this weird problem.

Yeah, that definitely looks like a software issue. I use either Windows Media Player or Ulead DVD player for my needs and I don't experience this problem.

I'm thinking of going to xp just because I don't have anything in vista that xp doesn't.
