Pretty sure I'm gonna go for an XPS M1330 this summer (summer being ~June 21st - ~ Mid Aug: I have exams and a new lappy will distract me, could order a bit earlier to allow for delays).

When will I get the best price? I'm assuming Dell will have their usual "Summer Blitz" and/or "Ready for College" type deals (I'm likely to be starting this year) etc.

Also, is there anything I should hold out for? It has to last the whole way through college: at least four years. Now, I'll take immaculate care of it, both in maintaining it in terms of virus/spyware/general software/OS based stuff and actual real life pampering, but are there any new developements I should be looking at? New USB/processors for example?

New processors are going to come out June 3rd I believe. Not sure how Dell is going to implement them either in a new model or just put in the new motherboard in the current models.

I've seen pictures of some new laptops that are rumored to be new Inspiron models. http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9939141-1.html

Yeah I saw the new Inspirons and they look sharp. Since they look similar to the XPS line I would guess Dell is going change them to make them more distinct.

But, AFAIK, the release dates for those are June 3 un the US, how quick are Dell to standardise this side of the Atlantic puddle?
