Okay, so this is my little dilema. I really like the Dell Studio 17 I have, but it is defective in the sense of the screen scratched and the drive scratches discs. If I call Dell, like last time, they will send me a replacement Studio 17, but it will be refurbished or not new. I don't like that.
What websites feature the BEST Dell coupons to bring the Dell Studio 17 price down? I got mine fully featured for about $1,340 on Dell's 30% off sale. I miss that sale because Dell doesn't do coupons for the Studio line of laptops, only Inspiron and XPS. They have offers, but when I spec out each offer, it comes to about the same amount which is higher.
Any suggestions and/or insider know? I DO NOT want to deal with Dell on the phone, that's for sure. Last time I did that, they were very confused putting my Dell order together and price and spec'ed it wrong.
I also want top specs but for the 30% or more off price liek before because an outdated chipset in the Studio 15/17 is NOT worth over $1,600+.
Any help would be nice. Thanks!

so wait do u intend on returning the one u got for a full refund and just buying a new one? How long have you had the laptop for?

Yea i just noticed that too, why the hell would they take our the dedicated card from the studio 17 but keep the one in the studio 15? that makes no sense. Um i believe if you've only had it for a week you're still under the 21 day policy where if something is wrong with it they should replace it with another new one not a refurbished one. Someone may have to correct me if i am wrong but im pretty sure about that, you can return for a full refund within 21 days and if somethings wrong u can get it replaced with another new one, cause yea i wouldnt wanna get a refund and reorder it now if you cant get a better video card if thats something u want in it.

u mentioned like last time, what happened the first time? Since u just got the laptop less than a week ago i would demand u get another new laptop especially since the laptop is very time critical right now with the components it could have in it.

I always find killer deals on dell stuff at fatwallet.com I got 20% off my refurb Studio 15. I bought a killer machine for $619.
I will pm you the links. I cannot post them bc I don't have 15 posts yet!! Lame. -
I agree - Dell Outlet is the best way to get a smoking deal on a Studio 15 or 17 right now. If you don't want a Refurb, they have many "Previously Ordered New" which are systems that were either never power on by the customer or were cancelled by the customer before they were shipped. There is currently a 20% off coupon which is 9GZXPXSXXWPT0B, but it expires today. Here is where I always get my Dell coupon codes: http://www.xpbargains.com/dell_coupons, although the only problem is that they rarely release Studio coupons as you mentioned.
FWIW, I got a refurbed system and it was in perfect condition and I would have never know it wasn't new. It came with a fresh OS installation and there are no cosmitic blemishes whatsoever. I scored mine for just $719 after the 20% off coupon, and it would have cost me about $1,400 brand new (T9300 2.5Ghz, 250GB HD, 4GB RAM, 1440x900 LED screen, 256MB HD 3450, Intel 5300 AGN WiFi, Back Lit Keyboard, Fingerprint Reader, Bluetooth, DVD-RW, Webcam).
I just checked, and there is only 1 "New" Studio 17 in the Dell Outlet right now (T5850 2.16Ghz, 3GB RAM, 320GB Hard Drive, DVD-RW, WUXGA 1920x1200 LCD, 256MB HD 3650, 6-cell battery, Webcam, Dell 1397 Wireless, Jet Black, and also Office 2007!) - and it's just $1,119 - 20% = $895. That system would cost $1,200+ if ordered new from Dell right now, and that doesn't even include the HD3650 video card. -
what happened to the centrino 2 they had in the studios also? its gone now as well. Why is dell severely killing their new studio brand?
-
Dell only has Centrino 2 on Studio 15, that's it for its mainstream laptop lineup. Dell is I believe the only computer manufactuer left that hasn't switched to Centrino 2 on all its mainstream laptops. Everytime I go into Best Buy, all the Dell computers sit there collecting dust while the new Centrino 2 computers sell quickly. Believe me when I say that my local Best Buy employees do honestly tell you Centrino 2 is better because I overhear them and watch for what they say.
Dell doesn't care anymore, they let themselves go. One thing that irratates me about Dell is the fact that they gradually introduce new hardware features into their laptops when all other manufactuers have every offer already there. Dell is molaslass slow. Plus, the coupons differ daily so you regret your first higher priced purchase when now you could have gotten it cheaper. Out of their mainstream laptops, the Dell Studio doesn't qualify for ANY e-coupons, what a sham! -

yea i thought it had centrino 2, but now the site only shows the studio 15 being offered with 2 of the low end core 2 duos idk whats up with them.
