Depends on the market you bought the laptop in.

    Generally it is:

Made in China - for China & certain Asian countries
Made in Ireland - for European countries
Made in Malaysia - for the rest of the world (including USA & Canada)

My D620 came from Malaysia (I am in the United States). I've also seen an Ireland-made D620 that was shipped to a large corporation. The Ireland one seemed slightly better put together.

Most Dell notebooks are made in Penang, Malaysia.

@ kal2en what notebook are you talking about? Every dell here in Taiwan I have seen has costed much more than in the US. Asus is the brand to go with in Taiwan...

I also agree, Dell is cheapest in U.S (if coupon codes are used). In Taiwan better get an Asus or maybe an ODMbrand like Clevo or Compal (if you can find a reseller selling them).

P.S Most dell are made by Compal or Quanta.

Well, i think in Malaysia they put spare parts to gether, and Dell in USA put spareparts together to build laptops.

As far as i notice in my invoice, 1 shipped from Austin TX. other 2 of mine are from PA.
