According to this post on Slickdeals.net, the only Inspiron coupon available next week is a 20% off $999 coupon. Does this mean the other coupons, like the $750 off $1999 coupon is gone? It states the coupons are not valid until 6a.m. August 3rd, so I'm willing to buy in the next few hours if I know for sure that the $750 off coupon or something better is not coming back. The only reason I'm posting this is because I heard about a month ago that Dell was going to discontinue the use of coupons, and I'm just afraid this is the beginning of the end of the coupons. Thank you.

Dell doesn't always have $750 off coupons like that, but I wouldn't be surprised if you do start seeing less and less of them. As you said, Dell apparently is moving towards more just setting the base pricing and forgoing the whole coupon thing (which should probably keep things simpler if it just means that they set the normal price of their computers to whatever one would pay after using a 35% off or $750 off coupon).

This is disconcerting. Does anyone think the $750 off coupon has been retired?

I unfortunately think you are out of luck, unless a sale comes along. I think they did away with the 750 off coupons.

Yeah I got an email this morning with Dell annoucing that they're ending all those mail in rebates and the coupons probably.. So the pricing will be clear and whoever you are deal hunter or not you'll get the same price.

    Or...
You'll have to browse through Outlet for the better price now. Which is not a bad thing, if you get the right computer for the right price.

Yeah, I receive the email as well that they have heard our "call" and simplify their pricing structure. Unfortunately, it seems you're out of luck. Perhaps you can call them and see if you have better luck that way.

No dell outlet normally doesn't have any coupons, and I got the same email also. I"ll try to confirm and see if the coupons have really disappeared.

I ended up purchasing an almost maxed out e1505 last night while the $750 off coupon was still valid. If it is true that Dell is discontinuing the coupons, I'm glad I purchased when I did.

they base prices are 20 dollars cheaper than thye were last week, thats horrible. i could get a similiarly configued laptop for $200 cheaper than this week. Dell is a becoming greedy.

Well this is interesting. They say "We've discountinued rebates", but these are coupons?

Maybe just a ploy to get us ready for Merom pricing.

I think the thread I started, now closed, called "Dell Eliminates Coupons on Inspiron Notebooks!" had a more descriptive title for the subject and I hereby donate it to this thread should anyone desire it!

Yes they do, and at the moment they have a 10% off coupon for inspirons and XPS systems priced at $999+. Then there is a Dell latitude outlet coupon good for 15% off. Both you will need to buy from ebay or have someone give you one of them. These are 1 time use coupons....

Also if you play that game online now you can get some decent coupons like $250 off $1250, etc.
