Maybe they haven't pushed it through the retail channel yet...

they haven't gone retail yet...but if everyone is selling them in laptops, i wouldn't see why we couldn't get one somewhere...

That sucks! I just got mine last week with a 250gb. If i had know about the 320gb i would've just waited the extra week...my 250gb is already filled up to the max :(

that does suck :( i have a 500gb, 80gb, and 60gb externals as well as a desktop with 980gbs of hard drives. all are filled up including the 160gb in my lappy. Granted there are backups of lots of my data on these drives, but i have a lot of data :)

Jesus, how do people consume so much data? Pirating to many videos? lolz..

Well, I tried and help you're cause, but it looks those drives aren't retail yet, I guess they're trying to push laptop sales up a little to the storage demanding users. They'll come around.

The highest capacity I could find is a 250GB on Tigerdirect

I also learned, they do make 10k drives for laptops in the search for you're 320GB drive. So looks like I found my newest investment! This'll make encoding those HD videos move along nicely now while not in the office. :D

    Cheers.

10k laptop drives are a joke...I think there are only SCSI 2.5" 10k drives, no SATA ones AFAIK.

Nope this one is SATA, and a joke? Hah I'll have to remember that when encoding a video again on this crummy 7200RPM one, drops frames left and right.

Checking reviews, and it runs apparently cooler, and is smaller then traditional 2.5" drives and a lot lighter on battery consumption. At those pro's I can hardly see how you can draw such a conclusion.
