Greetings everyone!New member here. My inquiry is in regards to my dell xps 1330.Up until fairly recently,i only used my c drive which held100 gb. Then i noticed that my computer had a partition in it, of which it was called my D drive , that had 60 gb capacity. One day i went to store some large files on it for the first time. All of a sudden,,,the drive only recognizes it as having 50 gb capacity. What's up with that? I suppose i can live without that extra 10 gb, but i'm mostly curious about why this happens.
And i'm only thinking about it, because i've been so disappointed with the speed of my vista home premium , that i was considering using that drive to put in windows xp,as a second o.s.
Also, vista was pissing me off so much,i was going to use pc restore, but ,,guess not,,i'm under the impression, that pc restore was not installed on vista home premium.
I suppose a full format is a better idea, but i haven't figured out how to do that yet,,i'm no rank amateur,,i used to format my xp on a regular basis,,just for having fun and being profiecient in my o.s.
any ideas??? thanks again..Tim (temporarily living in Dubai)![]()

Probably a Hidden restore partition.

The D drive (factory configuration) is for the Recovery Partition. Another 3 GB or so (hidden) is for the Media Direct partition.
Where did my 10gb on d drive go to?
