Got over 500 Mp3's in my Mydocument/Mymusic directory. But in media direct when I try to update music it just finds 11 random test music files. When I click on more music then C: it won't let me browse.

No one knows how this works? The help documents say it just reads all Mp3's from MyMusic directory. But for some reason when I do a search all music it just finds 13 random songs I've never even seen on my PC. And it won't let me browse through the C: drive either.

I don't know what to tell you. My 1705 has Media Direct and XP Professional. I can search my C and D drives, and all users' My Music directories are available and scanned automatically.

What computer and OS do you have?

Its the E1405 and its using XP media center edition. This may have started after I formatted the hard drive. But I used the Media Direct fixing tool. And I can browse pictures and watch dvds fine.

I think Media Direct uses the Windows Media Player database. At least that's the way it worked with my M710 with version MD 1.1. I had to add the folders to WMP for Media Direct to see them.

so I called dell on call (had 30 days free) and for some odd reason when I did update library on the phone with this tech it found all my Mp3's. I have no clue what happened cause I tried this like 50+ times in the last few days. Very odd.

On a side note calling Dell about Media Direct isn't such a good idea. The lady I spoke to didn't even know what it was and I had to explain it to her.
