The penryn are released on the 16th I think......

They still use the santa rosa platform you know. It should be 3-6 weeks before Dell starts offering them

the current $594 discount which runs through Jan 31 and Penryn are likely mutually exclusive...

Penryn just came out like, 2 - 4 days ago.. You won't see systems with it until the 20th or 30th of this month. Give it time..

I don't know what all the excitement is.. It's just a optimized version of Memron..

Only see a minor 10% difference. Pretty minor..

Wimax will have its own chip, like wireless. And it is coming with Montevina this summer.

10% seems like a lot to me. I'll take some. Aren't they lower power, too?

Right. Compared to the same speed pre-penryn, 10% increase in performance and simultaneous 10% decrease in power consumption. Sounds worth waiting to me. If we were talking about GPU instead of CPU, 80% of the members here would be going ga ga over 10%!!

Anandtech has already received a DELL Latitude D630 with Penryn for testing, which means DELL is already working on it..

I was looking at the online 1530 manual and they include .45nm processors in the specs so I doubt they are far away.

Patience, Dell will upgrade soon enough. Dell is always one of the first to update their lineup.
