I was looking for the poll where people voted about having problems with their laptops within 3 years with or wihtout warranty.

I couldn't find it, can anyone help?

warrenties are useless imo. unless you get the complete care. you can fix any problem for the cost of the warrenty IF it breaks. if it doesnt thats money in your pocket. :)

exactly what nizzy said, warranty is worthless unless it's complete care that takes care of basically anything.. the basic warranty doesn't cover broken lcd's or anything like that..

Yep, warranties are useless. I was planning to upgrade my 1 year warranty to 3 years, but when Dell refused to replace my system because of the dreaded CPU whine, I thought that if they refuse to fix my problems in the first year, they'll probably do the same in the next 2 years as well.

By using my Visa my warranty is doubled to 2 years, and hopefully the laptop with be fine (except for the CPU whine that is still there) after that.

I always ensure my warranty is at least 3 years on a laptop (as that is how long I plan on owning them)...

I've never had an issue with Dell fixing a hardware problem under warranty and the costs are always justified over the lifetime of the laptop... My i5160 has had so many parts replaced that it is crazy!
